Vastra is an East Indian clothing line, designed and run by the fabulous Namrita Chettiar.I was desperately
searching for an Indian outfit for my brother's wedding last month. I didn't want to wear anything ordinary that can be bought at any store front in Berkeley or South Bay. After much researching, I came upon the Vastra website, and found Namrita. Namrita is highly skilled at what she does. Her clothing line is breathtakingly beautiful. If you know Indian clothing, you know that you can get a good design, but bad quality of workmanship, or fabric. Everything in the Vastra line is of the highest quality. From the silk fabrics, to the brocades, and the stone work, her clothing is meant to last, not just to be worn for a time or two. The most important aspect of Vastra is that you can get custom pieces. If you don't like what Namrita has, you can ask her to help you design an outfit. She will have it custom made to your liking, within a fairly fast turnaround time. She has the clothing hand-made in India, so it does take a short time to receive. But, once you have it, you will not be disappointed. I had an outfit custom made for me, for my brother's wedding, and it was beautiful I picked out the colors, fabric, etc, and I was the belle of the ball! I had a lot of ladies asking about it! The Vastra line is not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The pricing of her Indian bridle wear is very competitive with store fronts, but her quality and unique designs are priceless. You can be sure no one else will be wearing what you are. Vastra also does bridle wear for American weddings, for brides that want a little Eastern flair to their dresses. I wish I could give Namrita more than five stars, but unfortunately, Yelp only allows five. She has shown me the utmost professionalism, and her timely manner has made me a fan. Not to mention the fabulous clothes...can't wait to splurge on another outfit soon! - Malikah

I was 5 days away from my wedding day and NO Reception outfit! My sister introduced me to Namrita
Chettiar - Vastra Line, her collection of bridal wear! Within minutes of our email introduction, Namrita, was welcoming and engaging! She told me she could help me out, so we set a meeting date immediately for me to come and view her pieces. The second I met Namrita, I knew I was in good hands, and with my wedding being 5 days away, everything would work out! We went through her AMAZING pieces, I told her my budget and she worked with me every step of the way! She met my ever expectation! She got the Beautiful piece altered for my size and height, she made sure the piece looked good on me and made me feel comfortable in the outfit~ I knew I could rock it on my wedding reception night! My outfit was AMAZING. It was the HIT of the night. The attention to detail, the style, the workmanship and quality just made the piece a masterpiece! I loved her work so much, I will be going back to her through the years! Thank you so much Namrita for saving my wedding reception outfit nightmare!
